It’s ice carving time again in Cripple Creek! For a fun, family-oriented event that is in the mountains but close to home, visit Cripple Creek for the annual Ice Festival. This year’s theme is “Safari in Ice,” which promises some pretty creative displays…maybe lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my!
The two-weekend event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, February 11/12 and 18/19. Along with watching the ice carvers work their magic on the sculptures, there are plenty of other activities. The kids can slide down an ice slide or try to find their way out of an ice maze. There will be carnival-type games that are made of ice, and many street vendors will offer plenty of delicious food as well as other types of merchandise. An ice bar complete with a liquor luge will provide adult refreshments, and live music will be featured both weekends! The schedule is:
2/11, 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. – Exit West
2/11, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – Southern Belle
