A huge benefit of Forest Lakes is its location. It’s five minutes to I-25 with easy access to Monument, Colorado Springs and Denver. Also, just east of I-25 there is business district that offers several health care facilities, a YMCA, banks, restaurants, and major shopping facilities such as Super Walmart, Home Depot, Kohls, King Soopers and Walgreens. It’s also just a hop, skip and jump away from the quaint downtown Monument, which hosts many fun events throughout the year and serves as the cultural center.
About the Schools
Children in the area attend schools in acclaimed Lewis Palmer School District #38 – Bear Creek Elementary, Creekside Middle School and Lewis Palmer High School.
Parks and Recreation
As if the views of the lake weren’t enough, there are spectacular views of the Front Range, wetlands and a bluff to the south that is in the designated open space. Wildlife can also be seen throughout the natural area, and anglers will be happy to learn they can fish in Bristlecone Lake (catch and release), and it is open to unmotorized boats. Lake amenities are available by permit only, and homeowners in Forest Lakes are given a permit when they close on their home. The public is invited to apply for a permit for Lake Amenities, Fishing, Dock or reserve Picnic/Pavilion/Amphitheater by contacting the Forest Lakes Residential Owners Association (HOA) at: 719-389-0700.
Driving Directions
Forest Lakes is located on the west side of I-25 off of Baptist Road. From I-25 exit Baptist Road (Exit 158) and go west. Continue straight through round-a-bout and over bridge. Veer right after bridge and you enter Forest Lakes.
